Lisa was horrified. How could it be that even after serious scientific study that dangerous practices were hidden from the public. Aspartame induces lymphomas and leukemias in rats and it is fed to humans daily in just about everything.

Malignant brain tumors have been observed among male and female rodents and this is of particular concern as the results of carcinogenicity bioassays in rodents, mainly rats and mice, have been shown to be a consistent predictor of human cancer. Aspartic acid in aspartame is an excitotoxin or product that literally stimulates the neurons of the brain to death causing brain damage. Once again the link to attacking the mind could be seen.

A Norwegian study also showed that aspartame destroys the brain, especially in the area of learning. Dull minds. One study determined that twelve aspartame fed rats had developed brain tumors (astrocytomas), while none of the control rats had. The higher the dose of aspartame, the more brain tumors were induced. Aspartame also triggered mammary, uterine, ovarian, pancreatic, testicular and thyroid tumors along with brain tumors. Instances of pituitary adenomas were also noted

Aspartame is 200 times sweeter than sugar and is used throughout the world in low-calorie drinks and foods. An Italian research conclusively proved that aspartame is a carcinogen. The formaldehyde breakdown of aspartame was found to be damaging to cellular DNA and that this damage was cumulative. The type of damage was a duplicate of that associated with cancers.

Even worse than sugar, we are presently ingesting over 5,000 products with a chemical sweetener that produces formaldehyde when broken down at body temperature. It's called aspartame.

Once again, Lisa noted the attack on the mind using chemicals. But now the added dangers to DNA itself became apparent.

She also saw the feint outlines of a pattern emerging. Were there reasons as to why minds and emotions were being altered and played with? She knew she had to learn more. And quickly.
